I have been seeking the Lord as to how to pray for the current Ukraine situation. Here’s 3 verses that the Lord gave me:

1. Get Ready

“Dear children, this is the last hour; as you have heard that the antichrist is coming“  (1 Jn 2:18)

John’s letter was written 2000 years ago. If it was the last hour then, it’s surely the last minute today! We need to get ready. God will tie up history soon and the Day of the Lord will arrive. Are you prepared? If not separate more time for prayer and ask God what you must do to get ready.

I was impressed by  Wladimir e Vitali Klitschko, the famous Ukrainian boxes who could be earning millions of dollars and living safely, but instead decided to return to Kiev to help defend their capital. Yet we are in a great spiritual battle for the souls of men and women today, but many of us remain in comfort, instead of joining the battle in prayer and missions.

2.Pray for the healing of the nations

“And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.” (Rev 22:2)

This is the time to pray for the healing of all the nations being drawn into this conflict, but especially Ukraine and Russia. This is God’s ultimate aim and Gid has the power to heal nations.

“You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.“ (Apoc 10:11)

And while we are praying for healing let’s pray for the destiny of these nations. Every nation is a part of God’s global plan. God has a unique plan for each nation to play in this. Let’s hear God about about this and declare it over these nations.

3.To raise up godly leadership

“I answered the king, ‘If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my fathers are buried so that I can rebuild it.’” (Neh 2:5)

During times of great difficulty, God raises up exceptional leadership to meet the times. God raised up Nehemiah to protect and rebuild Jerusalem in preparation for the first coming of Jesus.

President Zelensky is of Jewish background. Let’s pray the faith, wisdom and godliness of Nehemiah for him at this time. But also for God to use this situation to raise up godly leaders, in the  Church and in governments, who stand for justice and who act courageously to help prepare us all for these difficult days.

So let’s use these verses to pray prophetically for the Ukraine, Russia and the nations at this time.
