The Revival Devotional format
Modern Revival Stories
The great preacher Martyn Lloyd–Jones said that the best tonic for his soul was the history of revival. You can read one story a day starting at the beginning, as three week’s devotional readings, or dip into any of the stories as you like.
The stories are organised under clear headings so that you can find what you are looking for, e.g. growing spiritual hunger, experiencing the manifest presence of God, growing holiness and how God can transform our young people.
My own experiences of revival
I have had the privilege of experiencing three genuine revivals in my lifetime and so seven of the stories come from personal experiences. Also it means that I am not writing about the theory of revival but what I have lived and experienced myself. This book is born out of revival.
Powerful Scriptures and Prayers
Each day begins with a Scripture passage, accompanied by a story which illustrates it. So all these stories find their roots in Biblical experience, our primary authority as Christians.
Finally, each day’s devotion finishes with a powerful prayer, verbatim from Scripture or adapted from Scripture. The prayers of the Bible reflect the priorities of the Kingdom, and as the Word of God they are powerful to change our lives. If you pray these prayers every day with conviction, I guarantee that they will transform your life.
